Wreck Fishing:
There are many wrecks in the lower Keys that I like to visit. There are several ways to fish these wrecks. We usually drift fish the deeper wrecks that are located in 250ft-400ft. Depending on the current we will either anchor or drift the shallower wrecks. We use several types of baits when fishing these wrecks...including live bait, cut bait, squid, butterfly jigs, and lead head jigs. Different wrecks will produce different types of fish throughout the year. Some species include red snapper, amber jack, almaco jack, barracuda, snapper, tuna, bonita, sharks, and more. Wreck fishing is usually a good way to hook up with something big that will really test the willing angler.
